Find More Polycarbonate Product Properties in New CAMPUS-i Application

Customers who use Bayer MaterialScience polycarbonate products – Apec® high-heat polycarbonate, Bayblend® PC/ABS blend, Makroblend® PC/PET blend and Makrolon® polycarbonate – have a new source of data about these BMS engineering resins. The CAMPUS-i database is now installed and available on the BMS NAFTA Web site  for 24/7 use by current and prospective customers. No log-in is necessary to access this information.

Information in CAMPUS-i supplements the data in a conventional product information bulletin (PIB). For example, CAMPUS-i offers:

  • Spanish-language version – for our Spanish-speaking customers, the language setting in the upper left corner of CAMPUS-i presents the information in Spanish.
  • Multipoint data graphs (see the graphic above) – design engineers will be pleased to find more comprehensive mechanical and rheological material properties that go beyond standard datasheet properties, such as:
    • Tensile stress-strain curves
    • Long-term isochronous (creep) stress-strain curves
    • Dynamic properties such as loss and storage modulus
    • Rheological properties such as viscosity-shear rate curves and pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) data
    • To view these graphs, select a specific product, then click on the DIAGRAMS tab
  • Web-based – since CAMPUS-i can be accessed through our BMS NAFTA Web site, it’s no longer necessary to download and install software updates.
  • Summary of most key properties – including rheological, mechanical, electrical and thermal properties.
  • Comparisons – you can select and compare up to three different grades at one time.
  • Search – the Property Search function allows you to search BMS products by the properties and values in CAMPUS-i.  You can search polycarbonate resins by mechanical, thermal, electrical and other properties to find specific grades. The button for this function is located on the right side in the top bar.

Links to CAMPUS-i are prominently located on the right margin of the following pages of the BMS NAFTA Web site:
